I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel on jackpot games; the lure of millions is too great for me to pass up. This Pick 4 thing has been on my mind a lot though, so I took a look at some numbers for the past seven days and now I find myself holding a ticket for tonight's Pick 4 drawing in KY. Thanks to all the people who offered me their advice on getting started. motorhead and four4me both gave me some practical pointers. I was totally clueless about the game, but if nothing else, they helped me at least with some ideas on how to conceptualize the game.
Okay, here's what I've got for tonight. I've got a straight/box going on all these numbers:
1158 5851 1858 7260 4672
The 1, 5, and 8 have been altogether absent in the last seven evening draws. Being a longshot player, I'm betting that they'll emerge tonight in company. I like motorhead's tip about playing two same digits, so that's what I've done with those absent numbers in my first three selections. The 2, 6, and 7 have appeared the most in the last seven draws, so I've built my last two selections around those numbers. I threw in the 0 with one of them because it has the most catching up to do, and I put the 4 in the last selection because it's one of two numbers with the least catching up to do.
This certainly doesn't cover all the possibilities, but I'm setting strict limits on my Pick 4 play from the outset. I'm sure there are lots of holes in this approach, but this is a learning experience for me and I hope to get a little better each time I play. A big part of the fun is having my own experience and discovering along the way. Tonight is a starting point for me.
Wish me luck,
