SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A 17-year-old pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder in the beating death of 88-year-old Delbert Belton, a World War II veteran who survived the battle of Okinawa but was killed in a robbery outside a Washington state bar in 2013.

Kenan Adams-Kinard pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in exchange for two lesser charges being dropped. He faces a standard sentence to 20 to 27 years in prison when he is sentenced at a later date.

A foursome of golfers

A foursome of golfers, all in their 40's, discussed where they should meet
for lunch.  Finally it was agreed that  they would meet at Hooters because
the waitresses were  young, good  looking, were well endowed and wore
short-shorts.

Ten years  later, at age 50, the golfing buddies once again discussed where
they should  meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at
Hooters because  the food and service was good, they had many televisions to
watch the games  on, and the beer selection was excellent.

Ten years later, at  age 60, the foursome again discussed where they should
meet for lunch. Finally  it was agreed that they would meet at Hooters
because there was plenty of  parking, they could dine in peace, and it was good
value for the  money.

Sydney, Australia, Monday morning, 15 Dec:  A guy walks into a cafe with a shotgun.  16 plus hour standoff, with hundreds of police, begins.  Area businesses shut down for a day, thousands of dollars in lost revenue.  Thousands of dollars spent on police effort.  News media around the world spending millions of dollars covering the siege.  Other nations monitoring the situation, ready to give aid to Australian government, if needed.  Police finally take action.  Bad guy dead, 2 citizens dead, 4 citizens wounded.

Compare that to...

Las Cruces, NM, Sunday evening, 14 Dec (virtually the same time):  A guy walks into a "Smoke Shop" with a shotgun.  Store clerk is armed with a 9mm.  In less then a minute, bad guy is dead.  Police called to process the scene and take a report.  Area businesses parking slightly inconvienenced because of cop cars.  Area TV news media has a 20 second blurb on the evening news and the area news paper has a small article the next day. Prosecutor reportedly declines to press charges.

4.  Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

6.  Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

North Dakota Names Landfill After Obama

The state of North Dakota has named a new publicly-owned landfill after President Barack Obama.

In an overwhelming 35-10 vote, the state Senate advanced a bill naming a 650-acre site currently under construction after the nations 44th president. Governor Jack Dalrymple is expected to sign the measure into law Tuesday.

When completed, the Barack Obama Memorial Landfill will be the largest waste disposal site in North Dakota, and the 17th largest in the United States. It will be especially rich in toxic waste from the local petroleum and medical industries.

We wanted to do something to honor the president, says Republican State Senator Doug Perlman, who was the lead sponsor of the bill. And I think a pile of garbage is a fitting tribute to Obamas presidency.

We originally planned on naming it after a nearby mountain. But then someone jokingly suggested we name it after Obama. I never thought and idea like that would actually pass. But I was pleasantly surprised.

The president is hardly popular in North Dakota. The most recent poll in December 2013 found that Obama has a 35% approval rating in the state, although that figure may have fallen further in the year since. Yet even considering the political climate, seasoned observers are surprised  that two Democratic lawmakers voted for the bills passage.

Re: the man killed by a hammer, on the news today a St Louis police official said "He wasn't killed because he was Bosnian".

This is a ridiculously slanted and biased comment. Everyone in the country, black and white, know that he was killed because he was white but the media won't touch it.

As one reporter said, do you think the media is going to give this a few weeks attention?

(CNN) -- Two juveniles are in custody Sunday, suspected in the death of a man beaten with hammers on a St. Louis street.

The victim, 32-year-old Zemir Begic, suffered injuries to his head, abdomen, face and mouth, according to police.

He was unconscious by the time officers arrived. Begic was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

"Investigation revealed the victim was traveling in his vehicle when several juveniles approached his vehicle on foot and began damaging it.

"The victim exited his vehicle and the juveniles began yelling at the victim and striking him with hammers. After the assault, the juveniles fled the scene on foot," read an incident report.

Two suspects were later located and taken into custody, police said. They are 15 and 16.

A motive for the attack was not immediately clear. An investigation is ongoing.

Call me racist and the article does not specify race, but given the close dates of Ferguson and this incident in St. Louis, I am thinking that the perpetrators were black and the victim obviously white. I am willing to bet that no charges of a "hate crime will be lodged and I am also willing to bet that no whites will burn down the town or loot the liquor stores.
