Ase': What It Is & Why It's Important
Archeologists found that Egypt dominated Nubia for about 1,200 years, from 2000 to 747 B.C. Many aspects of Egyptian culture, including mummification, the pyramid tomb and artistic styles, were adopted by the Nubian elite. Then Nubia's fortunes turned, and for almost a century Nubian kings ruled Egypt in what is known as the 25th dynasty.
