Special-ed teacher arrested for throwing New Year's Eve party and letting kids drink alcohol and smoke pot

Lindsey E. Lewis, a teacher at the Phoenix School of Discovery in Louisville, KY

A special-education teacher was arrested for throwing a New Year’s Eve party for 40 people, including 14 underage guests who drank alcohol and smoked marijuana.

On Tuesday at 1 a.m., the Mount Washington police were called to the home of Lindsey E. Lewis, 36, a teacher at the Phoenix School of Discovery in Louisville, Ky., after a neighbor claimed that teens had destroyed her property while attending Lewis’s New Year’s Eve party, according to local news site WDRB. 

A police representative did not return Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment. A police report sent to WDRB said 14 children were at the party. A few of the teens tried to leave when the police entered, and others said they had consumed alcohol and smoked pot. WDRB also reported that the smell of marijuana was obvious in Lewis’s home, cans and bottles of alcohol were present, and Lewis appeared to be under the influence.

According to WDRB, police say Lewis “knowingly hosted a party in which she knew or assisted” with the children getting impaired. She was charged with 14 counts of engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minors.

The principal of the Phoenix School of Discovery and a representative of Jefferson County Public Schools did not return Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment.

District spokesperson Renee Murphy told WDRB that Lewis, a teacher at the school since 2016, will report for reassignment during the legal proceedings.

According to WAVE 3 News, an 18-year-old party guest named Tristan Cornett was also arrested for possession of marijuana and methamphetamines.

Some interesting data on the 'state' of the State of Illinois.  There are more people on welfare in Illinois than there are people working.  Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than anywhere else in the U.S.  Their average pay is $110,000/year.  Their pensions average 80-90% of their income. Wow, are Illinois and Chicago great or what? Be sure to read till the end. I've never heard it explained better.  Perhaps the U.S. should “pull out of Chicago”?

In the past SIX months,  292 murdered  in Chicago(majority, black on black).  221      killed in Iraq  ;AND Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.

Recently they passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal's to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes.  Pelosisaid it was unconstitutional SB1102.

Several weeks ago, Oklahoma passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining, Texas, Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.

 

More states are likely to follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi and Florida.

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I'm sure that was a setback for the criminals.  The Liberals didn't like it-

Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL drivers' license exams will be printed in English and only English and no other language.  They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only.  If you want to drive in Oklahoma, you must read and write English. Really simple.

 

By the way, the Liberals don't like any of this either.

I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.

 

I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers and against our country.

 

First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships.

 

The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity -- your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American. This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans.

 

If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity-, race- and non-American nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto of America, one of its three central values -- e pluribus unum, "from many, one." And this school will be guided by America's values.

 

This includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language, religion, sexual orientation or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness.

 

Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism -- an unhealthy preoccupation with the self -- while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, carpentry and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interesting in are those based on ethnic, racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.

 

Second, I am uninterested in whether English is your native language. My only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking and writing English as fluently as possible. The English language has united America's citizens for over 200 years, and it will unite us at this school. It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English language skills, I would be remiss in my duty to ensure that you will be prepared to successfully compete in the American job market. We will learn other languages here -- it is deplorable that most Americans only speak English -- but if you want classes taught in your native language rather than in English, this is not your school.

 

Third, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor, everything in this school will reflect learning's elevated status. This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for Hollywood events than for church or school. These people have their priorities backward. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.

 

Fourth, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school's property -- whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can't speak without using the f-word, you can't speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission, plus epithets such as "<snip>," even when used by one black student to address another black, or "bitch," even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few your age to instinctively distinguish between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.

 

Fifth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way -- the way people attained it until decided otherwise a generation ago -- by earning it. One immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.

 

Sixth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda. No more time will devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming. No more semesters will be devoted to condom wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue. There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual or not Christian. We will have failed if any one of you graduates this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately lucky -- to be alive and to be an American.

 

Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of our country. As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you.

 

Recently the left advocated the abolition of the television special "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" because Rudolph gets bullied. Seems some  people  were triggered before they got to the end of of this fun & fantastical fictional tale. There by they missed the modern day Aesop moral of the story.

Summarizing: Rudolph was harassed and excluded because he was different i.e. Red Nose. In a time of crisis, his difference becomes a great asset that saves the day. Consequently, he was then elevated to Hero status and thereby and respected by all juvenile and adult reindeer's with admiration and respect.   

As a growing up kid I understood the tale the lesson that you don't judge others by their natural immutable characteristics. There would be no lesson at all, let alone a story, if Rudolph had been allowed to play in the reindeer games all along!

Some radical folks on the left, hell bent, on attacking our American traditions, need to reduce the noise to signal ratio via closing their mouths, opening their minds and come back to reality.
