What Are Liberals' Broken Promises on Health Care Reform?

  • ·        What Are Liberals’ Broken Promises on Health Care Reform?

1) There will be transparency in the law-making process. For the past month, the Senate Finance Committee has been debating health care. But, much to the surprise of many Americans, they haven’t been debating an actual bill. They have been debating and amending a 262-page description of health care reform. It’s essentially a summary of what liberals want the bill to look like, and no member of the Committee, or the public, has seen actual legislation. The legislation will likely not be available until the bill is debated on the floor.

2) The bill won't add a dime to the deficit. Since the Senate bill is yet to be written, there are no official cost estimates. However, initial estimates of a description of the bill (which is what the Finance Committee has been debating) by the Congressional Budget Office indicate the gross cost will be $829 billion. Independent analysis by The Lewin Group, a highly respected health care policy and management consulting firm, expects the House bill to run a $39 billion deficit in the first decade, and a $1 trillion deficit in the second decade.

3) If you like the coverage you have you can keep it. Liberals in Congress continue to demand the inclusion of a public plan, a new government run health plan to “compete” against private health insurance plans. The Lewin Group calculated the impact the House bill’s public plan would have on existing health insurance coverage. It found with a public plan:

  • 56 percent of Americans with employer-based coverage would lose their current coverage with the addition of a public plan.
  • Of the estimated 172.5 million people with private health insurance, there would be a decline of 83.4 million people with private coverage.
  • 34 percent of the uninsured in America would still lack coverage.

4) The bill won't cut benefits for seniors. It is impossible to cut payments to Medicare Advantage plans without cutting benefits. The Congressional Budget Office director testified that Medicare benefits will be cut, meaning seniors' private options for their health care needs are at risk.

  • ·

6) It will save American families $2500 a year. There has been no analysis to show that these bills would deliver these promised savings. In fact, mandates in the current bills would have the opposite effect, forcing many individuals to pay more money out-of-pocket, and compelling businesses to reduce wages, salaries, and job opportunities.

7) The government plan won't cover abortions or illegal immigrants. Amendments were offered in the House and Senate Committee mark-ups to clarify that abortion services would not be included and to ensure proper identification of citizenship were used in determining eligibility. Each of these amendments failed.

HR 1388 Passed

  Subject:  HR 1388 PASSED

You just spent $20,000,000 to move members/supporters of Hamas, a terrorist
organization, to the United States ; housing, food, the whole enchilada.

  HR 1388 PASSED

Whether you are an Obama fan, or not, EVERYONE IN THE U. S. needs to know....

Something happened.... H.R. 1388 was passed, behind our backs. You may want to
read about it.. It wasn ' t mentioned on the news... just went by on the ticker
tape at the bottom of the CNN screen.

Obama funds $20M in taxpayer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA.
This is the news that didn' t make the headlines...

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of
$20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and
  "conflict victims" in Gaza .

The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of
Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States , was signed
and appears in the Federal Register.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free
ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have
displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement
(Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Let's review....itemized list of some of Barack Obama's most recent actions
  since his inauguration:

His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader
of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with
  Al Arabia television.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here
within the U. S. , but within the world, using U. S. taxpayer funds.

He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the
  "terror attack" on 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees
to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.

These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding
  bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

Doubtful? To verify this for yourself:

Let Me Get This Straight

Let me get this straight.
We're going to get a health care plan shoved down our throats that is
written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by
a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by
a president that also hasn't read it, and who smokes, with funding
administered by a treasury chief who didn't  pay his taxes, overseen by a
surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly  broke.

What could possibly go wrong?

Happy Mother's Day

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
They don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn't come out of carpets..

Real Mothers don't want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade....
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!

8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.

14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.

16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.

18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!

35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.

45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she
carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom .

Take the frequency of the last 50 draws and put them in order in the Puzzle.

Number 1 is the digit with the most hits and number 9 is the number with the least hits.

TTTs & Puzzles

A TTT (Tic-Tac-Toe) is a square that I think most of us are familiar with.  Simple game of placing Xs and Os into a 3X3 square with the person getting 3 in a row becoming the winner (if they do!)

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

There are only 8 winners (3 horizonal, 3 vertical and 2 diagonal).

Here on LP a few people have been posting what they call "TTT", but it has a LOT more winners than 8!  Some will claim a "hit" if the 3 digits are anywhere in the square.  Well, with a possible 9 digits, they are covering 84 possible combos!

Some claim that the numbers must touch to qualify as a hit in the Puzzle.  That is what I am currently using.  So, in the Puzzle above, 156 qualifies.  What I like are the normal TTT 8 combos along with triangles like 153 in the above example.  539 would be another, etc.

There are a lot of ways to construct the square.  I'm not going to get into that right now.  There are plenty of examples on LP...do a search for "TTT".  The way I look at my puzzles, is look at the square and see if one of YOUR favorites jumps out at you!

I'm hoping this helps.

158 years ago this week

158 Years ago this week.

Do you know what happened this week back in 1850, 158 years ago?

California became a state.
The State had no electricity.
The State had no money.

Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gunfights in the streets.

So basically, it was just like it is today, except the women had
real breasts and the men didn't hold hands.

BEWARE of late posters.

We all know that there are LP members that post just before the draw.  It helps nobody because not even the people that play online can play those numbers.  So, they are not posting the numbers for others, just for themselves.

I discovered something interesting this morning.  I like watching the Site Activity.  I noticed that someone had posted late AND THEN did an edit on the post seconds before the draw.  Then I discovered that the time posted by Lottery Post is 3 minutes SLOW.  So, this person actually posted 3 minutes AFTER the draw, if they watch it live, they should win.  Guess what...they DID.

So, I can't give a "WTG" to people that get wins that way.
