I have won str8 a fair amount of times using currently drawn exact order pairs.
With the 038 combo I would have played it as 803.
Look at the chart of previous draws and look for the 8X3
Look through the chart and see how many exact order pairs you see that repeated.
Look at your state to see if you can find any.

Just starting to use the any order front and back pairs throws a light on the game to garner some exact hit.
