Lots of scientists and residents alike are highly concerned about this gradual increase in both frequency and intensity of these quakes. They've been progressing for years now, and, it's due to Fracturing Water injected (disposed) back into near fault lines for years now. For your consideration:

yes, we've seen many articles like that.

the quakes have been 5-10 km depth.

next bigger one might be 6.1 and deeper.
