Why I do NOT buy Scratch-Offs

Published:

On Halloween, I got up early to go downtown to buy my November bus pass.  In downtown Dallas there is a place called Underground Dallas, when housings many little stores, like convenience stores, drug stores, card shops and gift shop, not counting the hundreds of places to eat.

Dart (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) has some vending machines for their bus passes.  But after buying my bus pass, I realize that I have a forty minute wait for the next bus.

I stop by this gift shop and purchase myself two more Mega Million tickets.  I have $1 left and saw their Scratch Offs.  I remember a friend of mine, Mary Stewart, telling me that you should always buy a scratch off when they first come out, because the first roll is always has lot of winning tickets on, and the lady tells me they just got Extreme Frosty, where I could win $300.00!  So I buy one.

I’m sitting outside scratching and find $300 as my first number, then I find $300 as my second number.  My third number is $10.00 and finally I’m scratching off the fourth space and I see $30….see the ticket below:

New games are not necessary loaded on the first rows.
Many call the scratchers the "suckers" game.
I see lots of people losing lots of money playing those games..

Thank you four4me & cv844. I noticed your both right that I failed to scratch off the entire ticket. So last night I search the trash for my ticket. (After I scanned it, I so no reason to hang on to it. I'm already a Pack Rat as it is.)

But I did not find it. I think my landlord emptied the trash. So while I did lose a little sleep last night, I didn't worry to much about it.
