We reworked the last 100 rollovers for the Mega Millions.

The baseline sets the cash value jackpots to a starting $1,000,000 by removing the inflationary starting values.

This puts all jackpot growth on an even playing field and show the relative growth between each rollover periods.

See the graph below.

It shows the current relative jackpot cash values.

The lack of growth could be an indication players are playing by dollar amount, not numbers of combinations.

Example, playing the same $10.00, but getting half as many chances to win.

Only the really serious Jackpot Junkies might be playing by the combination, but not enough to pump up the volume.

Don't pay much attention to the rolls or the jackpot. I'd be happy to win a million. Sets me up to say "bye-buy" to my job in a couple years.

we love doing the numbers.

maybe they could do something about those lower tier prizes.

not everyone looks to the jackpot for a reward.

for some is a deal breaker.

you have a better chance of winning $500 playing Pick 3 (1 out of 1000) than connecting on 4 + 0 in MM (1 out of 38,792).
