I always had the thought that the professional investors had a scheme where the professional investors suckered in the occasional investor. Sucker in the occasional investor when stocks peak the professional investor sells, then when the stocks go down creating a loss for the occasional investor causing them to scare and sell at a loss the professionals buys back creating a net gain for the professional.

Thank you JAP69 for you insightful & informative candid comments

Just like any speculation market indevours with ever large amounts of money are involved, it attracts schemers world wide.

The question is playing the stock market a FairGame similar to Las Vegas, etc, which is considered a major financial bank city and has Advantage players with an edge over entertainment visitors.

CEO Brofman of giant Seagram Whiskey empire was given to famously & directly say "To make $20 from $120 is a lot of work, to make $120M from $100M is inevitable."

Brewster had a plan to skim pennies from rounding errors into his accounts using programming. The high speed traders here are using hardware and software to game the system. The scheme to combat the high speed intercepts Katsuyama devised using 60Kilometers of fiber and dividing up the orders was genius.

Don't forget about the elites!

Try getting as good a deal on Apple stock as Al Gore got and they will wind up rolling on the floor laughing at you.

The market is rigged toward insiders and elites.
