Snake, Snake, Snake

Published:

Went out behind the back fence this morning and seen a snake slither across the cut grass and dive into the tall ditch grass. That is why we mow behind the fence as far as possible to keep the grass from growing up to the fence where critters could hide in and venture into the actual back yard area. A buffer zone to cut down the possibility.

All I seen was movement. The ditch is a constant drainage ditch for water from the upper elevation from where I am and always has some movement of water in it. The ditch has all the natural foliage that grow in those conditions. Cat tails and what not. Could have been a water moccasin for all I know. I have seen tiny fish in the ditch at one time or the other.
Raining pretty good right now and the water will be flowing pretty good. I have seen the water rise over the ditch bank right into the back yard during a heavy rain. I have seen a few times during the year heavy rain will rise to the height of the ground boxes on the lower portion of the lot.
