The Delusions of Linguistic Heritage.

Published:

Updated:

The simple fact is most of us speak in a conformal, conqueror or slave language.

My Native language would have been Ojibwe, not English.

Likewise, the Mexican Native language is not Spanish, it's either: Olmec, Mayan or Aztec.

Many immigrants adapted by learning their host nation's predominant language.

So, if you think your current language is your heritage, you may need to stop and have a reality check.

But, we speak English now, so we're OK with that; as long as we know the truth and don't try to delude ourselves.

Anyone who can vocalize sound can teach the meaning of the sounded word vocalized.
I read there was a tribe in South America who had their own language that was understood only by members of that tribe. I read the tribe was totally wiped out of all members and the only one that spoke the language after they were wiped out was a parrot.
