Container garden [update]

Just out back checking on things. The BUMBLE BEE is back.Hyper Seen the bee flitting around the flowers in the cuke box on the deck. Took a walk to the back fence to check on the ground boxes there and seen a bumble bee flitting around the flowers there. Good beeBig Grin

Did I tell you I have a Soya cuke growing on the vine in the ground box. It is about four or five inches long and about the size of a large pencil. I had to take some wire cutters back there yesterday or the day before as the Soya cuke was growing through the chicken wire. Cut the wire around the cuke to make a larger hole for the cuke. I had also taken off the chicken wire on top of the chicken wire I had around the cuke box for the cat deterrent some time ago. The Soya cuke grew up out of the top of the chicken wire around the cuke box and is now starting to run on the back page fence. That idea worked out well with the page fence as a cuke runner. The other three or four Soya cuke seedlings that came up are up to about three or four inches now.

The three Big Boy [Bonsai] tomato plants in the ground box back there I topped off the other day appears to be producing flower clusters now. That is good.Yes Nod

I keep my tomato plants trimmed up removing the sucker branch as they appear. I did let some suckers grow earlier on the tomato plants to have two or three main stems. I do not want my tomato plants to get all bushy sapping the energy from producing tomatoes.

All the flowers in the pails except four pails of flowers got all leggy and seeded out. From what I read yesterday once a flower plant gets leggy and seeds out it will not produce any more flowers. Probably proper trimming when they flower out will allow them to flower more. I am not up to speed on pruning flowers yet.

Going to harvest all the cauliflower today. The curds are going downhill fast. May even have to dump them as a lost cause after I look at them. No more spring cauliflower in the weather zone I live.

The curly parsley is doing real great.

Cauliflower went in the trash bin except for one small curd on one plant I washed up and trimmed off the discolored curd and ate the top portion right there on the deck. Got about three or four bites out of it.
Got something for my cauliflower effort.
