Container garden [this & That]

Wellll, Yesterday I went to Lowes and picked up two 42 x 84 inch concrete remesh sheets plus a pack of 100 rebar ties. Then I swung over to Home Depot and picked up a twelve pack of petunias plus a packet of acorn squash seeds. Brung them home and set the remesh in the garage. Took the petunias to the back deck and transplanted those petunias with three each in the flower pails. Then I planted four acorn squash seeds in the butternut squash bin. Had room on the end of the elevated bin for those. Figure I will grow both in the same bin.

Today I took the concrete remesh to the back deck and installed that on the perimeter of the squash bin having it 42 inches high. Had two sheets of remesh left from that task two feet wide and forty two inches long. Took those two sheets and bent each remesh sheet to go around the yellow squash and zucchini containers. Figure I will cage my yellow squash and zucchini this time to grow more vertically. I will also only grow one yellow squash and zucchini squash plant in each container to see if they do better.

Today I also replaced a flower pail on the shepherds pole in front of the house with a petunia pail. One of the pails with flowers in it on the shepherds pole died off.

Tomorrow I plan on going behind the fence and get the four wooden ground boxes where the squash died. Those ground boxes are about 14 x 14 x 6 inches high. I will take a ground box and stack it on another ground box adding a bottom to end up 14 inches square and 12 inches deep for two more deck containers for an individual squash in each one. I started enough yellow and zucchini seeds to have an individual plant in those boxes.

Sounds like big thunder coming our way right now. Just heard a storm alert come over the TV.

Had a he!!uva thunderstorm last night. Scared the living he!! out of me. Big ass thunder and a big downpour. I was about ready to crawl under the bed.
