This & That

Got up this morning about 0:615 and had my coffee with a chew of tobaky. Looked at the counter top and felt the surface and it needed sanding and another coat of poly. Sanded the top down with the 220 grit sandpaper pulling the dust off with a cloth as I went. Got the sanding finished and had another chew of tobaky. Felt tired and went in and went to bed and slept another couple hours.

Woke up about 10:45. Yep had another chew of tobaky. While chewing I was figuring out what to do with the dust problem. Sooo I got the vacuum out and ready to go. Got four pieces of wood about ten inches long and one and one half inches wide. I attached one on each end of the cabinet facing out on an angle to be above the cabinet. Then done the same for each end. On the ones facing out I drilled a small hole near the top on each end. Had a small roll of wire and strung that across the front leaving one end unattached. Got the painters plastic drop cloth that we had that was unused and cut that to length leaving about three foot extra on each end and where it dropped down the front. Got out my push pins and pinned the plastic to the back wall about sixteen inches up. Folded the plastic from the front to the back and tacked it to the wall to be out of the way.

Turned off the big floor fan and took the vacuum and done the floor and other areas I could catch with the vac hose including the counter top. Took my cloth rag and moistened it with mineral spirits and wiped the counter top down. Had a chew of tobaky.Big Grin After the chew I closed all the doors, stirred the polyurethane and took my two inch brush and applied it to the counter top. Capped the can, set the brush aside and took the loose end of the wire attaching it to the end. Folded down my plastic drop cloth over the front and sides attaching it with push pins as I went. Sealed up the counter top best as possible with the plastic tent. Went and cleaned the brush. Left the fan off and kept the doors closed except when I go out to chew tobakyGreen laugh.

Later this afternoon I lifted the plastic on my chewin tobakyCrazy end and took a peek across the top at the cabinet level. Still see some spots that need another coat. May do just the top next time and not the back splash or the edge molding. Do that tomorrow.

Time to go have another chew of tobakyNo No before dinner is served.
