Snak, Snake, Snake

Published:

My pants have been trying to fall down the last few days. When I got home from the gym today I went out into the garage to drill another hole in my belt. Seen a snake by the over head door after I opened it for more light. Moved closer to the snake to encourage it to go outside. It slithered behind some boxes by the wall. I was not going to move all that just to chase it. It is a corn snake a couple feet long so I figured I would let it be. The snake was just looking for a dry spot to spend its time with all this rain we are having. Ground is soaked with puddles and streams filled to capacity at times. The snake will go out when it is ready.

So I went and drilled another hole in my belt shortening it up 3/4 of an inch.

Still losing weight.

I walked up on a baby copperhead snake couple of days ago out in back yard in the grass near some bushes while outside picking up yard debris. Caught him with the pine cone grabber. They are not too quick and therefore easy to catch and grab on to with the pine cone grabber. Carried him wiggling and biting across the street and tossed him over a fence into an overgrown field. Maybe he can do some good over there in terms of vermin abatement after he gets bigger. I don't need my geriatric toy poodle boy getting popped on the nose by a copperhead in my yard. So far this year, I've had some rat snakes, black racer and garter snake, but thankfully no timber rattlers thus far (that I've seen) I don't ever remember seeing a corn snake other than pictures in a book or online.

Glad it wasn't as big as this snake.   https://www.11alive.com/article/news/local/verify/verify-was-a-massive-copperhead-snake-found-in-canton-ga/85-577432450

Holy guacamole! I wouldn't have been messing with that one (except with a shotgun). I never knew copperheads got that big.

I never knew either. One that size would cause nightmares.
