I have a little book called Abundant Living by E. Stanley Jones. I read meditations in it every morning and it has really helped me but last Saturday morning at 1am I had a scary time...called 911 before I thought things thru. When I was in the hospital last May30th thru June 2nd I found out I had a heart condition that is controlled by medication but sometimes I freak out with it mostly in the middle of the night when I wake up.

The condition is under control with medication but last Saturday morning at 1am I called 911 before I calmed myself down....I know what to do but did not do everything I had been told to do...had a doctors follow up visit yesterday and I'm ok....just freaked out because I thought I may have been having a heart attack...had 5 men in my bedroom...3 from the fire dept. and 2 medics.

...one of them did an EKG and it was fine...the firemen left...I was so grateful they got there when they did but I decided not to go with them...when I said I thought I was having a heart attack one of the medics said if I had thought you were having one we would have been pulling up to the hospital by now...he said it was most likely anxiety from freaking out over my heart beating so fast...could have gotten a little out of rhythm.

I've read a lot about this condition and a lot of people have it and don't even know it & that is why they drop dead of a heart attack or stroke because it goes untreated...no telling how long I have had it....it's called at Atrial fibrillation & it's when your heart gets out of rhythm.

...so in the hospital they shocked it back into the correct rhythm and the medication I'm taking keeps it under control but sometimes like in the middle of the night I wake up and my heart is racing so I know what to do but freaked out last Sat. morning & called 911 before doing what I should to calm down...called them at least 3 times right after I came home from the hospital and went to the hospital one time the first part of June but was ok.

Some of you may have it & not know you do or may know someone who has it...I strike up conversations with strangers in stores all the time and have found a lot of people who have it young and old or know someone who does have it so you have to be sure to go to the doctor & be checked out if you think you may have it.

My neighbors brother was helping another neighbor trim trees some time ago and he was a young man in his early 40's and he fell out of the tree & had symptoms of a heart attack but wanted to go inside to change clothes before going to the ER well by the time he stepped up to get in the car he fell over dead....not telling you this to scare you but if I can help someone to save their life is why I'm telling about this.
