Tried a different green for my salad

Published:

I had purchased a head of Romaine a day prior to the recall and had one serving of it that evening. Seen the recall the next day and trashed the Romaine.

Yesterday while at the market I was in the fresh produce section looking for a different green for my salad. Seen the usual stuff that I generally use for salad. I seen a few bunches of mustard greens and thought maybe I would try that having never used it before. Purchased a bunch of that and made my green salad with that. It has a flavor I liked also.

I could even have a combination of mustard greens and Swiss chard if I wanted too.

Later last night I decided to look up the health benefits of mustard greens. I am impressed with what I read.

Mustard greens are great to cook with turnip greens at a ratio of 20-25%. I normally use low fat ham, but add olive oil because I've read greens need oil/fat as a carrier for their minerals. I've never eaten them raw however.

My day was ruined with the romaine news .....
