I know a few atheists but they have no problem with things like "In God We Trust" or a Ten Commandments monument on a courthouse lawn; in fact, one once told me our laws are based upon Christian tenants and that as long as the Constitution was followed and no law was made in respect to religion, he had no problem with those things.

Of course, he was a Conservative and sensible, traits that people like amber do not have.

It's not that people like him have any real ax to grind, but that they are so selfish they do not want anyone else to have the faith they will never know.   God forbid (no pun intended) that they ever believe in something that gives THEM comfort and hope.

Yes, rcb, but he sure likes to act tough. He's mouthy (in more ways than one) and in my own personal experience, it's usually the mouthy ones who back down when challenged.

That friend of mine I mentioned above? He was an atheist...who happened to be gay. He died of AIDS in 2003. RIP BradinKentucky.

He didn't talk a lot about being gay, other than to make some self-deprecating joke. He once told me "Being gay is only a small part of who I am; I am much more than that." And he was and as it should be for anyone.
