this found in a dryer vent

This was found in my neighbors outside dryer vent....I kept seeing a bird take straw inside it so called the association mgmt. for help and sure enough a bird had built a nest and it was twice as much as this in there...this was just the nest.

Sure hated to do that to the little bird but it could have caused a fire to leave it stopped up with the nest.

Couldn't believe the bird had already laid 2 eggs in there!

Awwwww, I love to watch birds and their nests. Especially hummingbirds, they are so teeny, tiny.
That’s too bad this little bird chose the wrong location but she did pick a safe warm place lol.

Aw, that's sad, but you did the right thing. Human life is more precious than is an animals. Well, most anyway.

I wonder how long ago she had laid the eggs? I'd think she would have boogied the first time the dryer's hot air came blasting down the line, full of the scent of softener sheets.

Hearsetrax where I live a cat would not do any good to keep the birds from building a nest in the dryer vent because I live in a condo.

AND my association management & board members will not let us let animals out...well we can walk dogs but how can I walk a cat on a leash....lol

Glad they'd not hatched. Birdies can build another nest lay more eggs. Wonder what kind of bird that was?

I had a bird get in my dryer vent and slide down the tube behind the washer and dryer and couldn't get out. I have no idea how long he was there. Maintenance found it when they were replacing the washer one time and had to disconnect the tube. Now there is a screen over the outside vent.

Konane it was a wren....I saw it take some pine needles up to the vent...it's ironic I would never have known about it except for last Sunday the bird missed the vent and flew into the side of my bedroom window and instantly I knew it was a bird so went outside to make sure.

I live upstairs over the lady whose vent that was so I watched him go back and forth...thought he was just starting the nest but he was just adding more pine needles, straw etc to it....guess maybe it's a she if she laid eggs...lol

Oh no, that's terrible about the bird sliding down the tube behind the washer grwurston. They have put some screens over some of these but think you have to request it.

...going to try to get in touch with the owner of that condo and get him to request it...since it's not mine I can't do it...the maintenance man didn't want to check hers but since I had thought it was mine when I put the order in he went ahead and did it for me...glad he did.

...she rents so she can't do it....found out mine is on top of the building since I live upstairs...don't think little birds like to go down one to build a nest....they'd rather go it sideways...lol

Meant to say go "in" sideways.

Ever since I got up around 6 am a little bird has been singing, chirping or maybe fussing about something.

.he just won't stop...seems like it could be that wren saying where are my eggs & the nest...glad they had not hatched...I'd really be sad!

I feel bad but what else could I do....I love all of God's animals, birds etc.
