Many People Think This Speech Got Trump Elected

He said it well back in 2016 and it is as relevant today. His candidacy represents an existential threat to the existing power structure, and they will fight it tooth and nail because to them it is a fight to the death.
For Americans it is a question whether we will be controlled by the globalist hacks where the money flows to few who control, or whether we will return some semblance of democracy to this country and its people. It's not just the blue collar workers in the mid West who are getting raked over, make no mistake it is eventually everybody, but by the time they see it, it might be too late.
In this sense, Trump is actually the true progressive.

And yes, he's more "progressive" than is any Democrat today. They are all mostly leftists that masquerade as and call themselves progressive.
I also like to recall the moment I'm sure he decided to run for President; while I'm a little fuzzy on the details, it was at the annual Washington Correspondents Dinner, believe it was, and Obama was speaking, called him out on the Birther stuff (and never did the same to Hillary, even though it all originated from her camp) and then went on to say "There's a difference between you and me, Donald; I'm President and you'll never be."
I think remembering that and his recent challenge to Hillary and her response that he'd best not goad her or she WILL run is why he wants her to run; he wants to beat her again and honestly? She'd probably have the best chance of beating him. I doubt she could last through another grueling campaign, though.
I was very nearly a Never Trumper, but love my country and this speech changed my mind. For someone to have the courage to call out the biased media for the crooks and liars they are and to specifically mention the Clinton Crime Syndicate...well, my dislike of him faded away. He still says and does some things I don't agree with but he's definitely the right man for the job and at the right time in our history. I'd hate to think of what might have been had he not been elected.
