That's similar to the scene at our last family reunion when there was just one BBQ rib left on the platter and my two nephews reached for it at the same time.

Those nephews turned out to be decent men after they grew up, but they acted like savages at the dinner table when they were young teens...like it was a competition to see who could eat the most and unconcerned if anyone else got a portion.

On the bone, but "every other" cut - meaning not sliced halfway between ea. bone, but cutting out every other bone as so to have a full strip of meat on ea. side of a rib bone. That's how I do it; your mileage may vary. It does make for a big portion of meat and a serving of two is the most reasonable eaters can eat in one sitting.
