Anyway, that was a great movie with wonderful music and dancing.
I always smile when Jesus Christ is portrayed as a handsome fair-skinned man with blue eyes. (1) If he was a Galilean Semite, he probably had dark hair and eyes. (2) there is no mention of his actual physical appearance anywhere in the Bible. It only says he blended in with the crowd. In the Old Testament Isaiah wrote ""He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. " Descriptions by the disciples in the New Testament say Jesus was ordinary looking and, after his crucifixion, his followers often denounced any actual portrayal of his image as heresy.
I just like the way the songs were written, and because they are actors. Don't get me wrong, I admire what some churches do for the disadvantaged and such, but I don't believe in organized religion, especially the ones that say they know the secrets of the universe, and what the truth is always trying to cram it down my throat. I'm spiritual and that's it.
It's just a great movie in my opinion, and that's all it sums up yo be, nothing less nothing more.
You have the idiots who still send money to Jim Baker, even after he was caught stealing. It just amazes me!
Then you have the followers of Swaggart and company, after his antics with the hooker.
On top of that, you have more child molesters in the catholic church, than ever before and signs of protection from the higher ups, keeping their silence so as to not get the priests in trouble with the law.
Then you have the crazy radical muslims blowing themselves up, thinking they have 72 virgins waiting for them in heaven.
More blood has been shed in the name of religion than all the wars put together.
I think I'll just stay spiritual. It's safer this way...LOL
And when people I meet ask me what I think the truth is, I say to them with total honesty, unlike most religous people, that I DON"T KNOW! I have no problem with that. Atleast I'm being honest and not fooling myself.
Sorry for the long winded answer.....LOL
