The Ant and The Grasshopper

Published:

I've seen two different versions of this story with two different morals.

They are both wrong.

The moral of the story is: "Mother Nature smashes both the Ant and the Grasshopper out of existence and Starts Over."

She's done it before and don't kid yourself into thinking it can't happen to us.

You make a good point, JadeLottery.   David Letterman said to Al Gore last night that the Earth will be just fine. It's humans who might not fare so well. I think when everyone is talking about what will happen to the Earth in the future, they forget that the main concern is that humans will face impossible living conditions. The planet will probably get through just about anything (I just hope Klatu isn't following the War on Iraq)

I have "The Day The Earth Stood Still" on DVD. I think it's going to take an event like "The Day The Earth Stood Still" to slap us Americans and the World for that matter, in the face to realize how ignorant we are about our place in the Universe. The Ultimatum that if we don't get our act together down here, there will be no one left to travel up there.
