May 6th 1937 - pre WW11

The Hydrogen filled Hindenburg was a schedule grand German air  ship mysteriously caught fire and crashed while attempting to dock at Lakehurst,New Jersey Naval Air  station. 42 passengers of 97 survived and tragically 35 on board died plus one naval ground crew member  R.I.P.

This Hindenburg disastrous flight was initially intended for New York City destination and had made several Atlantic crossings safely beating all Ship Liners records

The inside story was believed that this occurrence was sabotage, although never conclusively proven
