Time Line: July 13th, 1923 - California

A commercial RE sign consisting of 50 foot letters spelling out "HOLLYWOODLAND" billboard was dedicated in the Hollywood Hills to promote a subdivision. The last four letters were removed in 1949 from the current iconic sign  :-)

How many iconic legends began herre ?

There were iconic legends there like Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne at one time but those days are over for the most part. Now it's all sniveling Anti-American Schmucks like DeNiro and the rest.
To the Democrats they are gods and worthy to be worshipped and listened to and obeyed.
