You know, for two tiny little letters, it's a mighty powerfull word.

It's been blamed for Nations going to battle with another "If your guy had not crossed my line, I wouldn't be at war with you"

It's been blamed for causing a young child to lie "If you take this cookie, will you be good". Yeah, like what else is the kid going to say?

It's been blamed for marriages gone bad "If you had been home and not out with other people"

And it's gotten blamed for things not being allowed to happen "If you had been here, you would have gotten to"

And you know, the politicians use it like crazy "If you elect me", hell, they should be honest and tell the truth. They will lie, cheat, steal and make lots of money off of you.

And best of all, it's been used as the primary reason why you didn't do something you probably should "If I had the time or known".

Sometimes, I think society itself would go asunder if those two tiny little letters were to never be allowed to be used together again. But then, if I had the power to do something about it, would anyone even notice?

The child would get a cookie because he/she is good
The spouse would have been home and not out and about
The party would be awesome and you would love every minute of it
You elect the politician because they actually did something good (yes, I know, really pushing it with that one)
I got it done because I do have the time

Amazing what a difference it makes to not have those two tiny little letters used together. Hey, perhaps I just do have the power to make people stop and notice.
