My kids never get a school day. It has to snow 2 ft before they'll call it off here. Poor things. Everywhere else around us is closed due to icy roads. But we don't really have any snow...just ice on the roads everywhere. Be glad you don't have ice to contend with. Up and down any mountains. It gets so dangerous when it's like it that. I wish they would call off work for icy conditions. I heard, for the first time this morning, "liberal leave policy" was the term they used to call off work for an energy company. Maybe that will catch on.

I don't know if I'd be able to return to ice and snow, although I talk about it a lot since the economy is so bad here. I miss snow, but when I read posts like this I remember being frantic when I had to drive in a bad storm. Funny, when I was young I'd drive my Beetle through the worst blizzards just to get to Maine, Vermont or Northern NH for the morning ski run. Snow can be so beautiful, but not to shovel or drive in!
