VS 2008 ??

Published:

VS 2008 Express is not giving me that warm and fuzzy feeling about VS 2008 Pro. I tried to install VS 2008 Exp on my sons laptop several different ways, from DVD ISO burned image to straight from the Microsoft site itself, CRASSSSH each time. Each had some weird bug from can't find a file, to can't write to a file even though there is admin privilege, to corrupt cab files,  SHEESH... Also, I tried installing VS 2005 Exp components just to see if it would install, POW it works....  I dunno...  I sent back the crash information to Microsoft. I might have to wait till 2009 to use VS 2008 Pro; while Microsoft fixes the bugs.

After reading some of the playup to VS 2008 and additional documentation, or the lack of, I get the felling that VS 2008 was rushed to market just like Vista was. I think I'll get VS 2005 Pro instead while it's still around, either that or wait till Microsoft Force Crash Tests VS 2008 using it Customers as always.

Microsoft is starting to P!$$ ^^E off! Especially the XP activation, I guarantee you, there would be fewer computers in the dump and VISTA wouldn't have been released so early, if Microsoft wasn't so greedy and stabilized the current products. It is getting stupid with this ever GMDMN trying to improve what already works! Have you been to Youtube lately open a You tube and click on that triangular button next to the play button and get ready to go on trip. It has been googlefied, Warning: It is not for the weak of memory or easily made dizzy.

Not related but I am spending time on LINUX. I am getting done with Billy Bones, he and his cohorts are actually worse than (*&^)*^)*&!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like I'll just wait till next year. I have very low confidence in VS 2008 Pro working on my XP system and is just to expensive to blow money on just to find out that I need to install it on a Vista machine; which would inflate the cost even more. Also, the new in the box prices I'm finding for VS 2005 Pro are just too much. I would have to win the Lottery just to get either Oddamn one... Shet... Oh, well.

Not sure what kind of problem you're having with VS2008, but in my experience it's an excellent product, and I would disagree about it being rushed to market. It's much, much better and more stable than either VS2003 or VS2005, IMHO.

Vista is also running very smooth, ever since SP1. I'm a happy camper with MS stuff. I think peopl e get worn down by all the MS haters, and they immediately think whatever problems they're having is MS's fault. Oftentimes it's the fault of a 3rd party vendor, who writes a crappy driver or something.

OK, the warm fuzzy is back... I'll be damned if I wasn't going to give it one more try. I downloaded the ISO file again and burned a third DVD. IT WORKED!!! Holy-Crap... I just might get VS 2008 Pro after all.... sorry Microsoft... I'm an Azs.
