I found this:

Homosexuals to Desecrate Jerusalem!

Lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders are organizing WorldPride 2005, an international parade in the city of Jerusalem. American Christians need to stand with the Mayor of Jerusalem to stop this desecration of Jerusalem. Add your signature to our letter of support for Uri Lupolianski, Mayor of Jerusalem urging him to stay strong in the fight to stop this abomination. Please complete the form below.

They are very right. It is an abomination.

At least it's a good time to cancel any plans for a trip to Jerusalem. If a person had any such plans.

Having a group of people with a history of attempts to shock religious sensibilities converge on a place already filled with people who take a lot of joy in having their sensibilities shocked doesn't strike me as a move designed to create much harmony.

Someone kisses someone or does something else in public with the intent to anger onlookers. Someone hurls a rock. Lots of people hurl rocks. Someone fires into a mob. A bomb goes off somewhere. People end up in jail. The evening news shoots off into the homes of buzzillions of people who shake their heads and mutter words that rhyme with beer and maggot, search around with words that rhyme with abomination, but don't find any.

It all ends with everyone who's left unhurt going home hugging him/herself with a warm red glow of righteousness, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Homosexual, Bisexual, Tri Sexual, all just shining from head to toe with satisfaction for a job well done.

Likely as not they picked Jerusalem for the sole purpose of increasing the percentage of humanity using words such as 'abomination' to describe them. Seems it's already worked.

For some reason, people these days seem to feel that mainstream religion - especially Catholicism, but also including Judaism - is one topic that is OK to slander and mock. You say one bad word about a homosexual and you're slammed by the media, but mock religion and you're a hero.

How hypocritical is it that from the WorldPride supporters' perspective, Jews are supposed to be tolerant of their point of view, but the WorldPride people aren't supposed to be tolerant of the Jewish perspective.

I am a very tolerant person, in that I really don't care what your view point is - I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own lifestyle. What I am not tolerant of is someone IMPOSING their viewpoint on someone who disagrees. It used to be that society was intolerant of homosexuality, but now the tables are seemingly turned, and the homosexual community is intolerant of traditional values.

I'm with you Lantern and Todd. My whole opinion is what you do in your bedroom is your business. But why am I forced to disregard my values and say that what you are doing is right when it isn't. In the end we are all going to face our maker. And the only person I am going to have to answer for is me.
