What did people do before motorized tranport requiring oil products?

Steam locomotives for rail roads.

Walk . Live close to your work

horse and buggy or mules or oxen.

Electric rail transport. When electric became available.

Ask the Amish in Pa if they need much oil.

Everything is so fast paced now no one wants to slow down a bit.

Then you'd also have to do away with your toothbrushes, and just about every household product. I don't want to live like a caveman...lol

They lived for centuries without all these oil produced products.
Milk came in a real glass bottle.
Manure from the horses and what not for the garden. LOL
At least when you went out and got drunk the horse knew it way home while you went to sleep in the buggy. LOL

I already have a free retirement plan. If things get any worse, I'm going to go be a monk and live in some monastary on a mountain somewhere. Grow our own vegetables and eat them all day. The only modern product I'd bring along would be few cases of beano, and Gas X.
