Published:

I have been feeling a little down lately.Got stress at work and at home.I have decided to make a liitle area in the bedroom where I can sit and relax alone.I am going to hang pics of the ocean and find some seashells.I bought a sounds of the ocean cd.I have a large glass container I am going to fill with sand and hopefully find a starfish at a craft shop to place in it.I hope this doesn't sound silly I just need a place where I can feel stress-free.Blue Angel

Great idea.
I read an article one time long ago where someone created their quet time just for themself. A place to relax.
It was written by her husband. The wife would have time set aside to be in her own space for about an hour each day with orders not to be bothered.

I have a habit of posting pictures of places I would like to travel to all over my house. (on my desktop computer and laptops too) This way, they are readily available to relax me when I need them. I have also found movies that incorporate these places into their story to be most beneficial.

sorry about that, don't know what happened there.

I was going to add : What is it about the beach that so many of us find so relaxing? I'm guilty too. I love the beach.

Angel, when I'm stressed....I burn candles & insense. Put on soft yoga music...pour a glass of my favorite wine...and that will do it for me every time! :)

Put a small fish tank in your bedroom. Relaxing to watch and the sound of water is soothing.

Nag Champa incense is great, also vanilla scent in a diffuser is supposed to be soothing. Good luck decompressing, we all have to do it periodically.

That's a wonderful idea, Angel.   I hope you feel better soon. You don't sound silly at all. In fact, you sound very grounded to me. BTW, there is a beautiful beach just down the street and I never go there any more. I suppose I got so down that I began to lose interest in everything. So I guess peace & harmony must come from within. Love the fish tank idea and the candles. Lavendar is supposed to be relaxing.

I think we have to feel down sometimes, part of being human, it's all good, and when it passes we appreciate it. Enjoy your new space, You always make me smile when I see your posts!!!!!

As you sit within your little piece of silence, make sure you close your eyes and empty your mind of all the thoughts of the day. Then find a color that you like and form that color into a color ball of light within your mind. Focus on this color light ball and allow it to melt the stress away as the color ball of light expands to fill all the recess of your mind. Take care and enjoy your new stress free life. :) When life rains on us put on your mud boots and find a good life mud puddle to splash in.
