I watch some of the construction of the one in France on the discovery channel.



They were going to build one in Texas a 54 mile long tunnel the project was cut due to the cost.

This thing is so scary and rediculous to try. Even some scientist are afraid of what can happen! Yikes!

TigerAngel, not to worry. They are colliding particles just like they do at Fermilab, 20 miles from my home. The energy they will be using today is much less than what they use at Fermilab. The public fears about the safety of the collider are unfounded. It's unfortunate that the US bid went to Texas. If it had been given to Fermilab it probably would have been completed and the US would have remained the center of particle physics.

Some may wonder why this is important. In one word...energy. These experiments may lead to a safer source of energy than nuclear reactors.

Understand the lab will discover aspects of inter-dimensional space to which our own DNA is connected through what scientists currently call "junk DNA."
