Stock market spiral

Published:

If these news writers and internet writers would not have fear in their headlines things might go a little more smoothly.

Their is scared money out there and these news articles are scaring the <snip> out of small investors.

Report the news but be more cautious in what you say writers. Give the money markets time to work things out.

I seen one article where a lending institution is going to rewrite some high interest mortgages down to a payable level by borrowers.

If more lending institutions would work with borrowers on their mortgages they would not have this foreclosure mess at the level it is. Rewrite the motgages where they do not need to foreclose and give the borrowers time. Better to have a cash flow coming in even it is only interest payments at this time.

If I was the c e o of a lending institution I would be working with borrowers to have cash flow instead of all these defaults.

I absolutely agree with all you've said. That would be a win/win for everyone including taxpayers.

As you've said we're witnessing firsthand the power of suggestion (by the press) of fear and how it shapes reality. Since we've realized that perhaps we can hold a picture in our own mind/thoughts/consciousness that things are in fact just fine, getting better. It has to happen on the inside before it happens on the outside. Most important we're the ones who control our thoughts, no one can put fear into our minds unless we allow it in.

Yeah they can reduce employment by hiring back all those out of work loan officers.

"Scared small investors" is part of the plan. You can find historical precedent back to the Panic of 1837 (or back to "Tulip Mania" of the early 1600s, if you're so inclined). Many famous fortunes were built during panics like these. This is no accident.

Don't worry, after the election, the press will magically stop writing bad news articles about the economy.

Just in time for Xmas shopping season. :-)
That doesn't mean that what is written is what is reality. "Mainstream" media is much like a magic show for people who want to believe.

They're already deep discounting things to free up cash they can't borrow to buy more stock. From a consumer's standpoint it's a good thing.
