What I think this country needs is the right of the citizens to have a majority vote in their district to fire the elected officals that do not do their work according to the majority opinion.
These elected officals are getting paid off on a regular basis these days. From the town council members on up.

I would agree with you if I allowed myself to think about what you're talking about. I try not to do that.

But I'd go a step further and say the country would probably be a lot better place if elected officials and newshounds alike were afraid for their lives, not their jobs, from an angry citizenry. Recall petitions are fine, but so rare as not to inspire a level of physical fear of citizen reprisal for betrayal of public trust.

Fortunately, I'm a peaceable soul, not prone to think about such things.
