Calling all computer people who know printers well -- printer problem I've had for a while...

Take a look at the document located here.

(Don't pay any attention to the blurred info at the top and bottom.)

Notice some of the lines are cut off at the top (e.g. Aladdin's Lamp, Cherry/Orange/Lemon Twist, etc.) on certain lines.  I've done Google searches on this and can't seem to find much (besides way off topic stuff and some that answer it with spam).  I look at the document in Print Preview in Micorsoft Office XP (Word, to be specific) and everything shows up just fine (no letters cut off at the top of certain lines, etc.).  I can copy documents directly on the printer (an HP PSC 2355v all-in-one) and they print off just fine.  It's just when I print from Microsoft Word that I have this problem (I just tested it with Excel and my Instant Game Stats sheet with the overall odds for each instant game in GA and it printed off 100% fine with no cut offs).

Could any of you that know a lot about printers out there help me on this?  I've had this issue for a while and it's driving me crazy.  I've tried changing printer cartridges and everything that I can think of and still haven't fixed the problem.  I know some computer stuff.....but printers and some networking stuff have always been my weakness.

Thanks a bunch!

(P.S.  If you need any more info (as in anything I might have left out that you need to know in order to help), reply and let me know and I'll get back to ya.)

Since it appears WORD is the only symptom creator, I suspect a format issue within the document settings look at print preview and check line spacing,   Try simple fonts on like arial 10 or 12 on a new blank document and see if you get any change.

I checked print preview and everything shows up fine. There are no letters cut off.
I used 12-point Times New Roman on the document that I linked to.

I just tried Arial 12 point and I still get some lines with the tops of characters cut off......although it's different lines from the document in the link. I checked print preview this time and it showed up perfect on the screen.....just not on paper.

I would try two things: 1. find the driver disk for your printer. once you know you have that delete the printer driver and then reinstall. test if it prints correctly your done. if not do the same thing for word. something between the two is not communicating correctly. since excel prints ok ( you did try to print the same words right) I would suspect word has a corrupted driver or interface Hp will typically load a dozen or more DLL's and other files. no easy way to tell exactly what you need and whats junk.
hope this helps you.

I use 2 HP all-in-one printers and I've seen this complaint the discussion boards before, so it might be the driver. I am not a technical person, but I sometimes learn from my own personal experience.   Here is a link to the HP drivers.

I was only able to duplicate this by changing the "line spacing" setting below 1.0.
