The blame starts at the bottom

How quick everyone is to point a finger.! I've been listening to the news and all i hear is how come the government took so long for this and so long for that. Now i hear that Sean penn and his whining mouth wants to stir up more anomosity by saying President Bush should be charged with "criminal neglect" for not acting quick enough for these pansies.

For each and everyone who wants to open their mouth's, you need to get your facts straight before you engage your hypocritical minds and mouths. First of all start at the local government, then state government and work your way up.The mayor of New Orleans did'nt act on the warnings, neither did the governor but yet you want to blame the President.

For each and everyone who has diaheria of the mouth, get your facts right before you start pointing your fingers.And for all the "Sean Penn's" or "Oprahs" or other celebrity learn to come together first and get these victoms of this natural disaster a helping hand, and then when it's back to somewhat of normallcy, then find out what went wrong.

But when you do start asking questions and looking for answers,"Start at the bottom" instead of starting at the top . You'll be surprised what you find out from where sleeping dog's lie...!!!!

Governments at all levels failed, I'm not putting all the blame on Bush just in case it sounded that way. Bottom, middle, top. We need to learn from what happened to make sure if it happens again were all prepared and on the same page.

You are right Fast Eddie and Maddog...I also believe ALL LEVELS of government failed. Katrina was our Terrorist Attack...and we didn't handle it worth a fart. Rome fell, and so can we.

Most of the blame falls on the governments and the taxpayers of the state of Louisiana for not having adequately invested in protecting their levee system. Instead of spending 100 to 200 million dollars a year to fortify their defenses, the cost of the recovery and rebuilding is going to cost nearly 70 billion dollars, or nearly 12 times what the state takes in in tax revenue in a given year.

Hello, I started out reading tntea's blog and hit Next by mistake and found this. I don't blame out government for any of the Katrina disaster, geesh! man is not that powerful to create a hurricane! I now blame the government for dishing out billions of dollars for needless handouts. Some are warranted and some are definately not. I live in Texas and reading of the great hurricane that hit Galveston years ago, there was no Fema, or any other government agency to help those people. The neighbors helped each other, then you picked up yourself and started over. They didn't wait for someone to build them a two-story house, of which they never had to begin with. Don't misunderstand me, I'm all for helping those in dire need, but, a LOT of these people are gouging our government, and coming out smelling a whole lot better than when they started out.
As far as the Superdome victims, some of them should have stolen the food/water from the ones that were raping the women and maybe they would have been too weak to "do their thing".
I never knew that area was so inhumane, until the hurricane. Louisiana is mostly to blame for not making them literate, long before the hurricane hit. How sad! Guess the La. officials were to busy filling their pockets with the gambling revenue....I mean, they get enough money Daily to have already fixed their slums.
