Airlines in $$$$$$ trouble

Published:

What is it with these airlines!

If I were running an airline buisness I would be charging fares that meet the cost plus profit zone.
If people did not want to pay they can walk.

They are cutting each others throat on this fares competition crap. They must be stupid.

Figure it out for auto transportation for a 1000 mile trip. Gas, food, lodging , wear and tear on the vehicle etc.
You certainly can not do it for what you pay for some of these airline fares.

I totally agree. It seems, however that they are in an inevitable spin downwards, trapped, because the competition is lowering prices. I don't think that an airline is going to jump up and say, well if you don't want to pay the price that makes us a profit, then walk or drive. They would claim bankruptcy, there and then. They are just milking their way for time. Until the inevitable comes or the govt. bails them out, they have no choice ,but to cut fares.
It's like someone started a seed, and it just grew out of control.
Both NorthWest and Delta just filed. What a shame.
Maybe the best thing is for the govt. to bail them out, just to keep the economy rolling, until a better way to resolve problems like these, come forth. Just one man's opineness.

Yep the Govt may bail them out.
If I seen it coming with Chrysler corp back a long time ago when they were going belly up I would have loaded up on Chrysler @ $6.00 a share. Would have made a killing. I had some money to load up but did not.

Yeah, I know the feeling, here in South West Florida, with the real estate. It ha grown 9 times over in the past 5 years......Coulda....shoulda......woulda......
The developers are having a field day here in the past 10 years.
We are about to have one of the biggest malls in the country. Maybe, less than a year away.
South West Florida is the second in growth, following Las Vegas in the whole country.
There is a place here called Cape Coral. If I had bought a lot 5 years ago, it would have cost me around $5000.00.
Today it costs around $40,000.
Shoulda.....coulda.....woulda....
