This is confusing on Pres Obamas senate seat

Should this special election have been held in 2009 rather than what the current ruling calls for? Senator Obamas seat was vacated in 2008. Something smells in skunk city.

If it was intentionaly delayed it seems obvious the dems wanted to maintain the 60 seat control. Will have to find out more on the election details.

I was just looking around But I found something in election laws on a quick read that Ill Have general elections on even years. Only found that the republicans were petitioning the state of Ill for a special election to fill Obamas seat. Apparently that did not fly.
All must be good. LOL
