Luck did come our way.

With all the flooding that happened this week, we were pretty lucky.

We only had about a foot of water in our basement, but that's only because the sump pump switch broke from contantly being activated.

Below are some links to yahoo articles that show Owatonna.

The place pictured is a place I go by a lot and pass by that car dealer many times before and after work.

Also, lucky for me was that early that morning on 09-23 I had gone to the Fleet Farm to pick up two new sump pumps and pvc piping.

Had I waited too long, I might have been S.O.L., they closed all the roads going to the other side of Owatonna and Fleet Farm was on the other side.

I have a small dry creek running through my backyard and it's usually empty when not raining; slightly filled when it does rain.

My son took some pictures and video of the backyard and our street leading out of town to the county highway.

Some of pictures and video are of our neighbor's: the white barn and playset are the neighbor's.

Most of what you see is our yard out to the road; what once was a field became a lake.
