First LED-LCD Flat Screen and Avatar!

We bought our first LED-LCD Flat screen TV this weekend.

It's a 42" Hitachi for a little under $800.00.

We have yet to get a BLURRY (Blu-Ray) player, but I don't think we will till it's absolutely necessary.

Currently we have a DVD-VHS combo player with an HD Up Converter that can output at 1080p on an HDMI connection; works just fine for our needs.

We are not a victim of Up-Grade-It-A-Zation Disease; it's a symptom of the much broader disease known as Just-Got-To-Have-It Syndrome.

Even with our collection of DVD's it looks like live action.

Also, it was the fact that the price had come down to something reasonable.

We would not allow ourselves to spend anything over $1,000.00 on a TV for that size, period.

If that meant waiting years, then we will.

Right now we are waiting on the price for a 60" to drop below $1,500.00; that would be for our bar/gaming room.

Also, this weekend was the first time we saw Avatar.

I am Native American, I was extremely and emotionally connected to the story of the movie; I've lived on that side of Oppressed and felt the effects it has on our people.

To say that I cried during and at the end would be too understated.

It reminded me of when Marlon Brando wanted to do a movie about the hardship of the Native Americans and was snubbed at about the very idea of such a movie.

To date there are very few movies out there that can even come close to the kind of life our people had to endure to make this Nation what it is today.
