Bird and fish die off

Published:

Could be just the overpopulation of a species in a localized area. I think it was reported that the birds in Ark had empty crops. Maintaining a balance of food & population. My opinion

But here is what others think.

The following is an ecerpt from the article.

"The irony is that mass die-offs – usually of animals with large populations – are getting the attention while a larger but slower mass extinction of thousands of species because of human activity is ignored, Wilson said."

I'm sure the examples given in the article pertain to animals that die off slowly, not instantaneously. There seems to be a justification going on for all of this. In the article it states that mass die-offs happen all the time, but it's mostly not noticed. Well, then why is the case in arkansas such a big deal then?

I'd like to see the report that the article states which supposedly shows that this happens all the time. And, I would be very interested to see whether the cases in the past that "happen all the time", were also instant mass deaths.
