What is with this Gov't shutdown talk

Here they have fed budget legislation in the pipeline to be deliberated on and passed or sent back thru the pipeline. This is time sensitive as it needs to be done by Mar 4th I believe. If nothing is passed gov't shuts down except for critical services.

In Dec 2010 they kept both houses in session almost all the way up to Christmas to pass critical legislation. They went past their usual shut down time for Christmas as it was.

Why are they not keeping both houses in session for this budget bill? They are scheduled for their one week presidental recess. (whoope doo) Like it is a major holiday.  All we hear is Reid and Pelosi saying a shut down could happen. It was such a big urgency in Dec. They are acting like it is not a major concern to them this time around.

I know why.

Not only that this budget legislation should have been passed last year. Pre planning no doubt.

Here's how to fix the budget: end all wars and occupations and close all military bases spread all over the world.

Rick that is a good start! Does anyone believe the IRS will close? We can only dream of a FED shutdown.

Maybe we can send a virus into the teleprompter, stating that this Government body has been cancelled or dissolved. One can only wish...!

That is what I heard four4me. They were notifing the S S workers of possible shutdown. Soc Sec is suppose to be a self funding program even without a budget in place. But I heard they made the Soc Sec program funds to be placed in the general funds some time back.
Soc Sec should be a stand alone program.
