Ham the Chimp became the first sentient being to travel in to outer space; beating out the other sentient being known as man.
Ham performed his learned tasks perfectly during that controlled fight and returned safely.

And Yea, we need not forget, the narcissistic humans in their ego driven endeavor to build such a thing.
Were it not for the distrust and animalistic, reptilian sense of territoriality between their own species, we would not be here today, now, yea.
We would not have had the chance to see the first Earthling in to space, Ham, our humble space traveler.
Let us pray.
Lord, God, or whatever it is you may be or not be; please forgive those humans that smite the good name of Ham. And, yea, may they see that they themselves are only but a infinitesimal point of consciousness in the vast wonder of existence; that their Universe is only but a minor cul-de-sac in the zeroth divisible space of the of ever more after temporal anomaly. That they understand they are part of or are close to being part of the trillions of other beings like them, in their limited Universe. For they too were once tree swinging chimp like creatures themselves. Amen.
Now open your texts to the 'Book of Cheeta', and we shall learn of Cheeta's tale from a time long past; when his father's, father, father first met man. Reading, "AND I LOOKED, There was a great rustling of the wood. Trees, plants, and all manor of creature shook with thunder; then quite. From place of where the trees made horrify noise, a voice said unto me, 'Come..., Look, I - have - Bananas.'" And he did take the fruit of man and was cast into slavery.
