They sure are a busy branch of government. You can find more articles when you connect to a link as it is the epa page. Could be possible pvc plants may decide to pack up and head to another country if new regulations are too costly.

It was in this atmosphere that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency was created in 1970. EPA was not a carefully crafted well integrated organization in the beginning. President Nixon, by Executive Order "reorganized" the Executive Branch by transferring 15 units from existing organizations into a now independent agency, EPA. Four major Government agencies were involved.

When the EPA was orginally begun, there was an urgent need to clean up the air, rivers and lakes in this country. To this end the organization succeeded spectacularly and I applaud them.

Having tackles the most pressing needs and some not so pressing needs, they must find new areas in which to flex their muscles. So they are turning their attention to the mundane and stupid. They actually want to regulate how much dust the atmosphere can contain, how much flatulence cows may emit and how much carbon dioxide a human may exhale.

They reached the end of their usefulness years ago and need to be defunded. Their only scope should be enforcing the regulations they have put in place. There is no need for new regulations.

I agree gasmeterguy. They done a great job of cleaning up the enviroment as I remember it when I was younger. Like raw sewage being dumped in rivers. Among other things that went on.
