Could you be found guilty

Published:

Of being in the street engaging in religious activity or political activity. All one has to do is refuse the pamphlet. As a matter of fact I seen a man standing on the sidewalk reading from the bible in a loud enough manner to be heard from more than 5 feet.

How about someone handing out political pamphlets. Congregating and marching in the street to spread their view point.

This man got in court over doing this.

Why is he a nut?

Because there are so many other issues that are worthy to scream about in the streets and go to jail for than how someone else do it. That's why I think he's a nut.

If the Westboro Baptist Church can disrupt funerals for soldiers with anti-gay messages, I don't see why the 1st Amendment doesn't protect this Pastor as well?

I don't approve of either being able to disrupt others to express their 1st Amendment rights but can't understand why one is allowed and the other isn't. Especially when he was paid damages and assured by Wichita Officials that he could do his "preaching" in a previous case.

Something along this line also occured in Pensacola, Florida. A church was protesting gays downtown. The solution was to put the church on one street corner and allow the gays to have the diagonally opposite street corner. The solution seems fair and should have been applied in this case.

But to fine and sentence anyone for handing out free Bibles was certainly beyond the pale. This preacher was not violating any laws ( at least it was not pointed out in the article). This will be overturned on appeal.

"This preacher was not violating any laws ( at least it was not pointed out in the article)."

- He was disrupting a business, which is probably against some law where he lives.

From what I understand, had he done it somewhere where he wasn't in front of a business, then he wouldn't have been charged with anything, because he was practicing his Freedom of Speech and Religion.

But that doesn't mean you can do it ANYWHERE you want. Like in front a business.

How about those people in front of a buisness or in your face preaching union rights.
