Two patients, two doctors

Published:

Subject:  DOCTORS

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery. The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then pending the review boards decision on his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet. The SECOND is a Senior Citizen on Obama Care...

In November if He and his Czars get another term we'll all have to find a good vet.

probably because for a dogs health one pays in cash.hardly anyone has cash enough for a humans operations.paperwork for any insurance takes time, simple.dogs sure deserve better care then any republicants on these blogs.

The type of situation with the human patient has been already going on for years - it is not just a scenario from Obamacare. The problem is actually more related to shortage of doctors -particularly surgeons- than to issues with health insurance. I seem to remember reading some where the number of veterinarians is increasing while the number of physicians is declining. Probably more are opting for veterinary medicine over human medicine because a-patients don't talk back and are grateful for the care they get, b-pet owners are less likely to sue the vet, c- as mentioned above vet care is a predominantly cash industry

Another reason to become a Vet. There are no lawyers ready and willing to sue the pants off a vet.
