Tic-Tac-Toe
Published:
I'm moving this up.
A TTT (Tic-Tac-Toe) is a square that I think most of us are familiar with. Simple game of placing Xs and Os into a 3X3 square with the person getting 3 in a row becoming the winner (if they do!)
1 | 2 | 3 |
4 | 5 | 6 |
7 | 8 | 9 |
There are only 8 winners (3 horizonal, 3 vertical and 2 diagonal).
Here on LP a few people have been posting what they call "TTT", but it has a LOT more winners than 8! Some will claim a "hit" if the 3 digits are anywhere in the square. Well, with a possible 9 digits, they are covering 84 possible combos!
Some claim that the numbers must touch to qualify as a hit in the Puzzle or Box. That is what I am currently using. So, in the Puzzle/Box above, 156 qualifies. What I like are the normal TTT 8 combos along with triangles like 153 in the above example. 539 would be another, etc.
There are a lot of ways to construct the square. I'm not going to get into that right now. There are plenty of examples on LP...do a search for "TTT". The way I look at my boxes, is look at the square and see if one of YOUR favorites jumps out at you!
I'm hoping this helps.
