make it look like you were really fighting for your side's ideals.

in the end, it's the end, taxes go up, government gets the revenue back, spending goes berzerk...

if it turns out badly, we'll just blame each other.

Make no mistake. There will be no "blaming each other". The Republicans will get the blame if the economy goes south. How? They will be accused of allowing it to happen if the economy goes south.

Of couse if the opposite happens, only the democrats will get the credit. That is how our free press operates today.
