Social Security & foriegn workers

Published:

I understand that there are agreements between the U.S. and most foriegn countries on retirement benefits.
Some type of pro rated deal for time worked in this country.
You must have a legal right to be in this country to obtain S.S. numbers even though you are not a citizen.

Great information!!

I hope the House makes mincemeat of the Senate's move on the issue yesterday, especially with regard to those here via forged documents, potential stolen SS#'s or identities.

The way I see it if a foriegner is here and works illegaly with forged documents the time worked for social security benefits shall be denied for that time period. A penalty for working in the U.S. illegaly.

If they become legal and obtain legal social security numbers their social security time will start from the time they are legal.
